Airline Ground Handling

Within the aviation industry airline handling is tremendously important. It takes care of aircraft while they are at the airport whether parked close to a passenger gate or in a remote area. Remote parking is normally used by Low Cost Carriers, cargo and private small aircraft.

Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 below show the two main ways for passengers to board an aircraft.

Fig 1 shows an example of an aircraft parked at gates with passenger bridges as compared to remote parking where passengers have to be transported by bus or walk from the terminal building as shown in Fig 2.
